New and Abbreviated Drug Submissions (NDS/ABDS)
A New Drug Submission (NDS) filling is required when a new drug is being introduced to the Canadian market, where as an Abbreviated New Drug Submission (ANDS) is required when an applicant plans on introducing a new generic veterinary drug that is bioequivalent to a Canadian Reference Product (CRP), or in other words, a currently marketed gold-standard drug.
Animal Supplements (NN)
The Low-Risk Veterinary Health Product (LRVHP) program enables companies to streamline the regulatory process and bring veterinary natural health products to market within a few weeks. This pilot voluntary program is carried out by a third party program administrator, North American Compendiums (NAC), which issues Notification Numbers (NNs) for products registered through their system.
