Currently health supplements can be imported and sold without registration/pre-market approval from Health Sciences Authority (HSA). However importer/distributor should comply with the guideline set out by HSA. The guideline provides information on the definition of health supplement, safety & quality requirements and specifications, maximum limits of certain vitamins and minerals, claims, and labelling. The responsibility of ensuring the safety and quality of the products rests with the dealer.
Before putting a cosmetic product on the Singapore market, the company intending to sell the product is required to notify the HAS before selling the product, and can only begin selling once acknowledgment of the notification is provide by the HAS. Notification is done online and should be renewed annually. Products should also comply with the requirements under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive which provides details of ingredients that can/cannot be used in cosmetics.
NHP Consulting will provide all regulatory documentation to achieve market compliance for the Singapore marketplace.
